Spraying an ant trail kills the workers and leaves the colony untouched, which is why the trail reappears on a different grout line three days later. Bait does the opposite: workers pick up the powder, carry it back to the nest, and feed it to the queen and brood, which is the only way to end a trail at the source.

Each 5 g sachet holds a 0.3% fipronil bait formulated for ants, placed along the trail rather than on it. Expect the trail to look busier for a day or two as recruits find the bait, then collapse over one to two weeks. Do not spray the area during that window, or the ants will stop foraging.

The sachets keep the powder dry and make placement simple: tear the corner, set it where the trail runs, and replace when empty. This is safer around a kitchen than loose powder because there is no dust to spread, and the format works in cabinets, along baseboards, behind appliances and at exterior entry points.

Place bait out of reach of children and pets, and never next to food, dishes or pet bowls. Do not use repellent sprays on or near the bait. Wear gloves when handling, wash hands, and dispose of empty sachets in sealed trash. Re-bait if activity resumes after two weeks.
